Christmas/California Trip

We made it back safe and sound from our trip to California for Christmas. We had a lot of fun seeing everyone and spending time with family. Tyler wasn't shy at all and warmed right up to all of his Aunt's and Uncle's, Grammy & Pappy. He loved playing with all of his cousins too. The louder and noiser everyone got, the more he enjoyed it. I couldn't believe how social he has become.

Snow Post Part 2 (Lots of Pictures)

Watch out for the yellow snow! Zeus kept on peeing on Shaun's snowman!

This is what it looked like when we went to bed on Friday night.

This is what we woke up to on Saturday morning.

Tyler had a hard time walking in all of the snow at first. He fell down a lot.

The store had sold out of sleds so Tyler went sledding on an old boogie board. It worked and he still had fun!

Then Daddy took him for a ride on the four-wheeler.

Shaun made some snowballs and Tyler thought they were awesome! He kept saying "Ball, Ball" and throwing them.

And after all the playing was over, Tyler got his first tastes of hot chocolate (and then skipped his nap because he was too hopped up on sugar and chocolate).

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

The weather people got it right for once...and here it is, Snow! It started snowing around 1 pm so Shaun was able to come home early so we could play outside with Tyler. He saw snow once last year, but he couldn't even walk yet and he was so little he didn't really understand. As soon as he got up from his nap, we put on his snow suit and took him outside. He loved it. He laughed and opened his mouth so he could catch the flakes. Every time a big flake of snow would land on his face he would get a giant smile on his face and bust up laughing. I was only able to get a few pics today because I didn't want to take my camera out in the mess, but I will get some more tomorrow as soon as it stops snowing.

Yes - he does look like the little boy from Christmas Story.

Cookie Monster

Such a funny little boy being a cookie monster and trying to do "Head, Shoulder, Knees, & Toes".

This N That

We went to a local festival this morning that had a lot of cool, old timey things. There were old tractors, trucks, civil war reinactments, and everything persimmon (It was a persimmon festival). I had actually never even seen a persimmon before but the persimmon pudding I tried was pretty yummy. Tyler liked it too.

I bought Tyler a Santa hat at Target the other day and he is obsessed with it. I put it on him when we got home and he actually cried when I took it off for nap time. As soon as he got up and saw it, he kept pointing to it and patting his head. He wanted it back on. Such a cutie pie!

Tyler didn't feel good the other day because he was teething so all he wanted to do was lay down and watch Elmo, or as he calls it "Memo". Poor baby. Even when he doesn't feel good he's adorable though.

Mud Puddle Fun

It was always so much fun playing in the dirt and a mud as a kid. We got a bit of rain without it being cold so when Tyler became interested in a puddle, we let him go for it. He had so much fun splashing in the puddle and getting super muddy! As you can see from the pictures, he needed a mid-day bath, but it was oh so worth the mess.

Monkey Boy

We had a little Monkey Boy hanging out with us for Halloween. Monkeys are one of Tyler’s favorite animals so that’s what he was this year for Halloween. Surprisingly, he loved wearing his costume. The Friday before Halloween, we went to downtown Madison with some friends and trick-or-treated. Tyler just stared at everyone. He couldn’t believe all the fun costumes. Then on Halloween, we stopped by the Harvest Festival at our church, over our friends Jason and Michelle’s house, and then back home to pass out the treat bags we put together for the kids in the neighborhood. Lots of fun!
