Practice, Practice, Practice

Tyler is on the verge of crawling! He now gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth. He is pretty good at scooting backwards and he'll push himself forward, but he just lands on his face. I guess we are going to have to go buy baby gates this weekend and finish baby proofing the house!

Last weekend Tyler's cousin, Joshua, came for a visit (along with his Aunt Angie and Uncle Jeremy.) Joshua seemed to really like playing with Tyler.

Tyler's bottom two teeth are not in yet but I wish they would hurry. They are making him a bit grumpy, especially in the evenings, and I want my happy baby back! We can see them just below the surface of the gums, but they are not quite there yet. Hopefully soon.

Tyler's Stats

Just a quick note after Tyler's 6 month check-up...

He's perfectly healthy and growing like a weed! He weighed in at 16 lbs. 14 oz., so he went from the 25th percentile in weight up to the 40th percentile, and he is 28 1/4 in. long, going from the 90th percentile to the 95th percentile. He got four shots which he didn't like so much, but he was really good the rest of the time. Especially considering we were interrupting his nap time!

Oh - and the nurse practitioner (our Dr. is on maternity leave) said that it does look like his gums are a little swollen so possibly in the next couple of weeks Tyler will be sportin' a couple of new teeth!

Happy New Year!

Well it's a new year and Tyler is getting more and more fun as each day goes by. He turned six months old on 1/7! Can you believe it? He is already half-way to his first birthday.

He loves to roll and roll all over the living room and he can lay on his belly and spin around to get to his toys or Mommy and Daddy. He started teething a couple of weeks ago, but after about a week it stopped and still no teeth. He eats real food twice a day now and so far his favorite veggie has been sweet potatoes and his favorite fruit is apples. He didn't like spinach very much, but then again neither does his Mommy.

I think he might be trying to drop his third nap, but we need to lengthen his first nap before that happens. I'm really looking forward to the third nap going away because then I might actually get to leave the house on occasion! :0)
